Looking to come back to Rosyth - remember me?

Does anyone remember me? My name is Margaret Schulz, and I lived in Rosyth from 1941-1962. I went to Kings Road School then Dunfermline High.

I have lived in Germany for a long time and would like to come back to Rosyth. Is it possible to rent a flat and what are the average rents? Thanks.

Dear Margaret:  I do not remember you; however, I lived in Rosyth from about 1944 to 1945/6.  I was just a small child then and my father had been posted to Rosyth Dockyard upon our return from Ceylon.  I remember going to a primary school at that time and we lived in a small house at, I remember, 11 Lowry Road.  I am not sure that still exists.  In 1947 my father was posted to Singapore and we returned from there in 1950 to return to Rosyth Dockyard.  At that time we lived in Dunfermline (at the Misses Osborne Guest House) and I attend the Dunfermline High School for about 3 months.  We then returned to Singapore for another 4 years.  Upon return my father was located in Bath, England, where I lived with my parents until 1960 when I re-located to the United States.  My parents continued to live in Bath until their deaths in 2007 and 2010.  I have three children and 6 grandchildren and am currently putting together some kind of memoir for them of my life all over the world.  I have some strong memories of Rosyth and Dunfermline but have never returned.

Kind regards.

Diana Lauder Sacks

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
