Please give blood - donate in Rosyth on 1st June

  • More donors are needed for the session in Rosyth on 1st June
The next blood donation session in Rosyth is being held on Monday 1st June in Parkgate Community Centre.

The session is being held from 2pm-4pm, and from 5pm-7pm, and all adults are asked to donate and support the service.

Your help is needed more than ever - total donations in Scotland fell last year by more than 10%, so it is essential that as many adults as possible make time to give blood. It might be your own life that you save.

Alison Maung from the Scottish Blood Transfusion Service said: "Only five per cent of people in Scotland are blood donors and we really hope the people of Rosyth can help us boost this figure. We have a constant, urgent need for blood to help us achieve the 1000 units required on a daily basis."

And more people can now give blood, as from the start of this year, if you are over 70 and have given a full donation within the past two years - you can continue to give blood! A change to donor criteria means the upper age limit no longer applies.

For more details about how to give blood, visit the Blood Transfusion service's website.

Please come along and give blood.
