Does Rosyth badly need a by-pass? There's plenty of local support for an online petition

A Rosyth woman has taken her campaign to get a by-pass for the town to the Scottish Parliament, gathering 630 signatures in an online petition on the Parliament's website.

Carol MacKenzie started the online petition on the Scottish Parliament website to raise awareness, and to campaign to have heavy traffic diverted away from homes and schools around the Admiralty Road area of Rosyth.

Carol previously lived in Admiralty Road, although the mother of six now lives in Cromwell Road.

The online petition proved extremely successful, with 630 people having put their names to the campaign when the petition was ended.

Labour MSP John Park, who has been closely involved in the campaign, said, "I am delighted Carol's petition for a Rosyth by-pass has been so successful.

"This is an important petition for the people of Rosyth and it is fantastic that so many residents have put their name to it."

The e-petition has now been submitted to the Scottish Parliament's petitions committee for consideration. You can view the petition here.
